Answer
01 · Utilization

Can you show me the average utilization by asset type in my fleet? And can you break it down by age of unit?

Why it's hard today. Telematics tracks engagement hours. The CMMS holds asset metadata—type, model year, age. Most fleets can answer "what's our utilization" at the aggregate, but breaking it down by asset class and age cohort requires joining those systems by hand, every time.
What it unlocks. See which asset classes age out of usefulness fastest, and which generations of trucks deserve continued investment versus retirement.

02 · Optimization

For trucks with aerial equipment, can you show me idling time both with and without PTO operation? What would savings be if we could reduce that idle time by 10%?

Why it's hard today. Telematics records idle. But separating "idle while running the boom" from "idle with the engine on for no reason" requires knowing when the PTO is engaged—data that lives in the upfit telemetry, not the chassis. Fuel cost calculations then need fuel cards joined to engine-hours. No incumbent telematics platform treats upfitted assets as first-class entities.
What it unlocks. Quantify the dollar value of cutting unproductive idle on upfitted assets—and target the fleets, drivers, and routes where that savings is concentrated.

03 · Service

What's the warranty status on Truck 47—chassis, powertrain, engine, hydraulics, and aftermarket?

Why it's hard today. Chassis warranty lives with the OEM. Powertrain and engine often have separate warranties. Aftermarket equipment—booms, hydraulics, ePTO, telematics—ships with its own warranty documentation from different vendors. Nobody centralizes this. When a part fails, "is this still covered" takes hours to answer.
What it unlocks. Recover warranty claims that would otherwise expire unnoticed. Stop paying out-of-pocket for repairs that should have been covered.

04 · Sustainability

Show me our progress against ESG targets, and where we're falling short.

Why it's hard today. Emissions calculations need fuel data, miles driven, and truck class. ESG targets live in a strategy doc, not a system. Comparing operational performance against the target requires explicit joins across dispersed sources—rebuilt every quarter for the board meeting.
What it unlocks. Real-time ESG visibility. Surface the gaps before the board reports them back to you. Calibrate operations against your targets continuously, not annually.

05 · Finance

Which assets are costing more to keep than they're worth?

Why it's hard today. Cost to keep is maintenance plus downtime plus fuel inefficiency. Asset value is depreciated book value (in finance) or estimated market value (in nobody's system). Without both sides of the equation calculated and joined, you can't surface the trucks that are net-negative—they just keep showing up in the maintenance schedule.
What it unlocks. Identify the assets to retire or dispose of before they consume more capital. Build a defensible case to leadership with the financial math attached.
